We were at Bembridge, when a lady, once she had discovered that I was the author, said that she must go back to her car and get her daughters. When they returned and I was introduced, the younger girl, asked. ‘Are you famous?’ I’m not sure what their mother had told them, so I really didn’t know what to say. So, I turned it around, ‘Do you know who I am?’ ‘Yes,’ she replied. ‘So,’ I said ‘then I must be famous.’
Visiting the stand, we meet up with those who like Lindy ad Reggie, were evacuated during the war, who are happy to relate their experiences.
My readership range is vast. Charlotte who was seven at the time, read it, as has Madge a 103-year-old neighbour. A lot of people buy them for the elderly relatives, some buy them for their grandchildren.
To date We have sold 1,261 copies of ‘A Red Sky’. There were a few bought on Amazon, but the large majority were sold at shows and fayres.
