Bob and I staggered up the path from the car park on Sunday to be greeted by Liz Tagart with the words. ‘Someone has broken a pane of glass in a greenhouse.’ I was confused. My confusion must have shown on my face.
‘Glass window pane?’ I thought.
‘The greenhouse was full of tomatoes,’ she continued with a smile on her face.
I was still confused. Why was she telling me this?
‘Reggie had been playing with his catapult.’ At the mention of Reggie and the catapult I immediately understood, she was talking about the first chapter of my latest book ‘There will be Blue Skies.’
‘I started reading your book last night,’ she explained. ‘I couldn’t wait.’
This was the third year we have exhibited at the 1940s experience at The Havenstreet Steam Railway. Liz bought my first book the in 2022, and enjoyed it very much she emailed, ‘I couldn’t put it down.’ She picked up the second book, ‘Sparkles in the Navy-Blue Sky’ in 2023. She was cross with me over that one. ‘Damn you Jo, I couldn’t put it down again. I’ll never get any work done at this rate.’ On Saturday evening 6th July, just before we left, she bought the third one, ‘There will be Blue Skies’, and started to read it that evening.
Thank you, Liz for your compliment. I am so glad you are enjoying it.
